In this guide, I will show you exactly how to use freenom domain in WordPress and easily host it via the InfinityFree hosting control panel and start building your website.

How To Register a Freenom Domain Name

First, register a domain name at

Type in your desired domain and click the Check Availability button. Now select any extension you’d like and click the Get it now! button.

On the next page, choose a period in which your domain is totally free. You can have up to 12 months and then hit Continue to proceed with the checkout process.

You need to supply the necessary details and received your order confirmation.

Setup Nameserver for Your Freenom Domain

Next, is you need to get a hosting environment and connect it to our Freenom domain in order to get yourself a working WordPress install.

A good choice would be to signup with InfinityFree hosting, one of the best free hosting providers for WordPress.

Signing up is so simple, all you need to do is go to their registration page and input the necessary details, and get your free hosting in minutes.

You should receive a confirmation email and verify the account to start managing the InfinityFree account control panel.

Once that is done, you need to update the nameserver from your current domain registrar, Freenom.

This can take a couple of minutes to hours to propagate. Just wait for it and then you’re good to go.

Installing WordPress and Get Online

Lastly, we’ll have to install WordPress on your new hosting account and get online.

You can do this by accessing your InfinityFree Account Cpanel. Once logged in, search for Softaculous Apps Installer.

A new window will open where you can select different scripts and cms. Select WordPress and click Install Now button.

Now, just supply the necessary details.

Software Setup – this is where you specify the location as well as the version of WordPress that will be installed.

Site Settings – you can name your website whatever you like. Don’t worry you can always change this later.

Admin Account – this is very important. This is the account that you’ll be using to log in to your WordPress Dashboard. It is important that you create a strong password a unique username.

Choose Language – you can leave this to the default English language.

On the Advanced Options and Select Theme, I suggest not touching this if you aren’t sure of what you do. Leaving this to their defaults will go enough. Selecting a theme not that important at this stage. Again, you can always change this later.

Once all is set up, go ahead and click the Install button.

WordPress will install the software for you, just wait for a few minutes until you see a success message.

You can now visit your newly created WordPress website at the following addresses – or to the WordPress admin area.
