Renewal of web hosting service before the due date is another story. And as you may already know, most hosting companies’ renewals are a lot more expensive compared to their introductory price.

Knowing this option is important because the money you can save can be used to promote your website and purchase other useful services.

In this article, I will show you important tips to help you save money on your web hosting renewals.

3 Quick Tips to Save Money on Web Hosting Renewals

As you can see, a cheap WordPress Hosting usually starts anywhere between $3/month to $20/month.

That’s why, as a website owner it is necessary to prepare and allocate a budget. And while it is not too late, here are tips and tricks that will help you save money on your next web hosting renewals.

1. Buy Web Hosting For Extended Term

This option is not only good for renewals but also applies to new web hosting purchases.

While you still can, then buy a plan for an extended term. The longer the term you get the more money you’ll save.

Here is a perfect example.

If you buy web hosting from Bluehost hosting for one year, it will cost you $4.95*12=$59.40

Suppose you renew your hosting plan for 1 year. This time, it will cost you at least $9.99*12=$119.88 for a year, and so on.

However, if you buy a three-year hosting plan instead, you only pay $2.65*36=$95.4.

So, that’s $200 plus web hosting savings for three years.

This amount is good enough to spend on promoting your website using Google ads, marketing, etc.

2. Ask Hosting Company For a Discount

Ask your current web hosting company for a discount to save money on renewals.

You should contact your web hosting sales team and ask for discounts. You might not know this but every business would try to keep their customers with them.

So while you are still a valued customer, try your best to ask for it. If possible retain the current plan or have it at a discounted price.

Here’s how I did it:

My hosting is about to expire and I need some discounts from you for my renewal. I cannot afford to pay the full renewal price and would like to continue with the discounted price I got when I first signed up. Another hosting company is giving me the same features, but for 60% off, so I can migrate my website to save money.

Most likely this method will work based on how you approach them.

And in most cases, you will only negotiate a renewal deal if you are satisfied with the performance and service your hosting provider give.

If your current web hosting lets you down more or it has poor performance and support then you might want to try this last tip and consider moving to a better host.

3. Migrate Your Website

Finally, the next and last option we have is migrating our website.

When you are not comfortable with your current web hosting, then website migration is the best idea.

Migration simply means switching your website from one hosting to another hosting. It helps to save money on web hosting renewals.

Switching your current website to another hosting provider needs a lot of work and could possibly break your site if not done correctly.

Luckily, if you don’t want to take any risks of changing your website, some great hosting providers offer you free migration services which you can get.

Some of these providers that I know include Bluehost, SiteGround, GreenGeeks, and WP Engine.

In addition, if you want to learn the ins and outs of migrating your website on your own then you can use some great migration plugins like All-in-One WP Migration, Duplicator, and BackupBuddy.
